Game Day November 2011

IEEE Recently co-hosted its first game day with SPS and SME! We had a small Halo: Reach tournament, with prizes for the winners. SPS was kind enough to let us use the Physics Lounge for our event. We had a good turnout, and much fun was had. We even claimed the life of a chair at some point.

2:10            President presents amendment on where IEEE funds will go incase the organization were to fold.

Vote on amendment taken. Unanimously in favor.

2:13            Corporate Sponsorships

Discussion on funding.

2:15            New Office announced: ET 210

2:17            Up ‘Til Dawn announced.
Need an incoming person to chair. We have a volunteer!

2:20            Late comers to the meeting introduced themselves.

2:22            Call for volunteer for SGA representative. Ben Avants and Matt Roberson volunteered.

2:23            IEEE Professional EXCOM mentioned. Networking opportunities abound… and free food to boot.

The restructuring of the branch et al

The restructuring of our student branch was discussed. The Membership decided to organize in an umbrella structure where each society and interest covered by IEEE would be extended the offer to join our Executive Committee with their Chair and Vice-Chair. The main Chair and Vice-Chair positions will speak for the unified IEEE on campus then, while all others report through them. (more…)

We are going to hold a short meeting to discuss officer elections on Friday, March 26th. We will be discussing organizational changes and the potential for new positions within the new structure. SoutheastCon 2010 Results

For those interested, we won third place in the website competition! YAY! .. unfortunately, we didn’t win anything else, but we’re in good company with the majority of other schools scoring zero points as well in the Hardware competition.
